Another one of Grandpa Safsten's“sayings” is “Never Get in a Pissing Match With A Skunk.” Of course, being the gentleman that he was – and with Grandma around to make sure no inappropriate words (like ‘pissing’) passed anyone’s lips – his version was “Never get in a fight with a skunk.”
Same difference. If someone’s a skunk, don’t engage. You might technically win, but it won’t be pleasant, and you’ll always come off smelling bad. The skunk doesn't care. This is well worth remembering during this political season.
