Affirmation #2: When Your Horse Dies, Get Off

"When Your Horse Dies, Get Off"

My grandfather was Oscar Johannes Safsten, who emigrated to the United States from Sweden as a young man. He was a great storyteller, and had a whole bunch of "sayings" (as he called them) that came out of the numerous stories he told. One of them was about his time in the Swedish Cavalry, and many of his stories ended up with the saying "When your horse dies, get off."

I have that saying -- and this quick drawing -- on the wall in my house, to remind myself that when something is over, it's over. Get off.

Sincerely,

Diana
